Malpensa Airport seizure of 11,400 unauthorized pharmaceutical products

Authorities at Malpensa Airport have seized 11,400 pharmaceutical products and over 15 liters of a potent insecticide containing dichlorvos, a substance banned in the European Union since 2013. The operation was conducted between May and July by the Malpensa Group finance police and officials from the Customs and Monopolies Agency.

The seizure targeted passengers and cargo shipments to intercept potentially harmful chemicals and unauthorized medicines. Among the confiscated items were substances intended for aesthetic treatments, such as hyaluronic acid, botulinum toxin, biostimulants, needles, and anesthetic creams. Investigators believe these materials were likely intended for clandestine cosmetic procedures.

Additionally, officials intercepted products for erectile dysfunction, psychotropic substances, and various medications used for weight loss regimens. Authorities warned that because these medicines are not certified or authorized by health agencies, they may be altered or contain incorrect amounts of active ingredients.
