Malta FA Announces New National Centre and Backs Infantino, Ceferin at General Assembly
The Malta Football Association held its second General Assembly at the Centenary Stadium, where President Bjorn Vassallo declared the association’s support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino and UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin in the elections scheduled for next year. Vassallo praised club officials and volunteers, highlighted the recent 125th‑anniversary celebrations and the opening of the National Football Centre, and emphasized the need for continued investment in facilities and coaching.
General Secretary Dr Maria Azzopardi presented the administrative report for the 2025‑26 season, noting record investment in infrastructure such as the first Maltese FIFA Arena, the introduction of Football Video Support, and the City of Football masterplan. The report also highlighted sporting milestones, including Ħamrun Spartans FC’s historic qualification for the UEFA Conference League and increased youth participation in both men’s and women’s senior national teams.
