Malta showcases top travel attractions and serves as filming location for Enola Holmes 3
Malta is promoted as a premier 2026 travel destination, offering turquoise coves, historic sites older than the pyramids, fortified cities, colorful villages and natural reserves. Highlights include Valletta’s Upper Barrakka Gardens and City Gate, the silent citadel of Mdina and nearby Rabat, the fishing harbour of Marsaxlokk, the rural charm of Gozo’s Victoria Citadelle, and coastal cliffs such as Dingli and Ghajn Tuffieħa.
The island also features prominently in the Netflix release Enola Holmes 3. Filming took place at Mdina’s Plaza Mesquita, St Paul’s Cathedral for the wedding scene, Valletta’s streets and Victoria Gate during a carnival sequence, the cliffs and sea of Dingli, and the Majjistral Nature and History Park for a horse‑chase. Villa Bologna in Attard doubled as a hotel and later a burning building, while Villa Bighi in Kalkara portrayed a British army barracks. These locations underscore Malta’s growing reputation as a versatile European film‑shooting hub.
