Malta tourism sees tenfold increase in Polish visitors

The number of Polish tourists visiting Malta has seen a nearly tenfold increase in recent years. According to Carlo Micallef, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, annual visits from Poland have risen from approximately 40,000–50,000 to nearly 500,000 by 2026.

This growth follows intensified promotional efforts in the Polish market that began in November 2022. Malta is positioning itself to attract visitors year-round by diversifying its offerings beyond sun and sea to include religious, family, active, and business tourism. The island also aims to leverage new technologies and artificial intelligence to promote sustainable tourism development.
