Maltepe Book Days begins in Istanbul
The 2nd Maltepe Book Days has officially opened at Maltepe Cumhuriyet Square, organized by the Maltepe Municipality. Operating under the slogan ‘Literature Liberates’, the event is dedicated to the prominent poet and literary figure Ahmet Telli.
The festival brings together 122 publishing houses, including 37 under the YAYKOOP umbrella and 85 others. The event features a diverse program consisting of panel discussions, book signing sessions, workshops, and concerts.
Maltepe Mayor Mimar Esin Köymen and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan performed the opening ceremony. During the event, officials also visited a photography and painting exhibition titled ‘Friendship Days: Our Friend Ahmet Telli’, featuring works by Mehmet Özer and Ziya Buyuk.
