Maltepe Book Days to host 122 publishers in Istanbul

The 2nd Maltepe Book Days will take place from September 12 to September 20 at Cumhuriyet Square in Istanbul. Organized by the Maltepe Municipality under the slogan ‘Literature Liberates,’ the event is dedicated to the poet Ahmet Telli.

A total of 122 publishing houses will participate, including 37 under the YAYKOOP umbrella and 85 independent publishers. The program features a diverse range of activities, including book signings, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, and documentary screenings.

Notable participants include authors Ahmet Ümit and Buket Uzuner. Other scheduled sessions will cover topics such as the role of women in literature and the historical significance of Istanbul in poetry and legends. The opening ceremony will include a photo exhibition and a documentary screening dedicated to Ahmet Telli.
