Malteser International doctors treat Gaza war casualties FAST-MOVING

German doctors from the aid organization Malteser International are treating 35 patients injured in the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The medical team is operating in Cairo, Egypt, providing care for injuries including burns, amputations, and wounds from shrapnel, gunfire, or explosions.

One patient, 21-year-old Ahmed al-Chair, is currently hospitalized in Cairo with a bullet lodged in his head. His father stated that Ahmed was struck in June 2025 while attempting to collect food from a US-led distribution center. The bullet was reportedly fired from a machine gun mounted on an Israeli tank. Due to the high risk, doctors have determined it is too dangerous to remove the projectile.

Medical professionals on the ground report that many patients suffer from complications such as infections caused by poor hygiene, delayed medical treatment, malnutrition, and weakened immune systems.
