Masela Block Project Gains Fuel Supply Support and Faster Compensation for Affected Communities

Pertamina Patra Niaga and the government of the Tanimbar Islands are coordinating to ensure a reliable supply of subsidised Biosolar fuel in Saumlaki. The effort responds to a roughly 20 % rise in vehicle traffic linked to the accelerating development of the Masela Block oil‑and‑gas project. Pertamina is preparing a request for additional Biosolar quota from the BPH Migas to meet the projected increase in consumption.

The provincial government of Maluku has also expedited the assessment and allocation of compensation for residents impacted by the Masela Block. Working with SKK Migas, INPEX Masela Ltd. and a public appraisal office, the governor’s office will set compensation values and designate eligible parties, aiming to resolve social impacts while the project proceeds.
