Maluma discusses eating disorder and expresses desire to return to Peru

Colombian singer Maluma revealed during the Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami that he previously suffered from an eating disorder. The artist explained that the pressure to maintain a specific physique for advertising campaigns, such as those for Calvin Klein, led to an obsession with food and extreme dietary restrictions. He noted that the stress of meeting tight deadlines to lose fat caused constant headaches and emotional distress.

While the eating disorder is in the past, Maluma admitted that he continues to struggle with anxiety.

Separately, the singer expressed his desire to return to Peru via social media. He shared a photo from a street in Medellín named ‘Calle 55, Peru’, accompanied by the message ‘Loco x volver a Perú’. His last official performance in Lima took place in September 2022. Maluma has confirmed a new tour titled ‘Loco x Volver’ is planned for 2027 and 2028, though specific dates and cities have not yet been announced.
