Maluma discusses ongoing anxiety and past eating disorder
Colombian singer Maluma revealed during the Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami that he continues to struggle with significant anxiety. Speaking about mental health, the artist disclosed that he previously suffered from an eating disorder driven by the pressure to maintain a specific physical image for fashion campaigns.
Maluma noted that the requirement to appear with a defined abdomen for advertisements led to an obsession with food, an issue he did not initially recognize as a disorder. He also described experiencing constant headaches and high stress levels during his decade of international fame.
The singer shared that his mental health challenges, including depression and physical exhaustion, were intensified following the birth of his first daughter, Paris. He mentioned that he currently utilizes daily therapy and finds balance through his personal and family life, noting that the birth of his second child, Orion, has provided him with new courage.
