Malvinas Argentinas hosts inaugural Argentine Urban Games

The first edition of the Argentine Urban Games (JAUR) is currently taking place in Malvinas Argentinas, Buenos Aires, running from October 28 to October 31. Organized jointly by the Municipality of Malvinas Argentinas and the Argentine Olympic Committee (COA), the event brings together more than 700 athletes from 22 provinces.

The competition features nine disciplines: skateboarding street, BMX freestyle, parkour, breaking, 3x3 basketball, baseball5, roller freestyle, chess, and sport climbing. The event follows the 2025 Provincial Urban Sports Law, which aimed to institutionalize and support sports that traditionally develop in public spaces.

Notable participants include a delegation of over 55 athletes from Córdoba and a Corrientes team that secured two silver medals in chess. Local officials, including Mayor Leonardo Nardini and various provincial leaders, attended the opening ceremony, emphasizing the role of sports as a tool for social development and inclusion.
