Malvinas veterans protest PAMI healthcare coverage cuts in Concordia

Malvinas War veterans and elderly residents in the Entre Ríos region are expressing deep concern following the decision to terminate PAMI's medical coverage at the Sanatorio Concordia in Argentina.

Luis Balbuena, a 64-year-old veteran from Federación, stated that the loss of this agreement leaves veterans feeling “totally unprotected.” He noted that finding specialists in northern Entre Ríos, specifically in Federación and Chajarí, is already critically difficult. The loss of the private sanatorium agreement removes a primary option for intermediate medical care in the area.

Veterans highlighted that their medical needs are increasing with age, often requiring specialized treatments and consistent medication. Beyond the veteran community, there is growing alarm regarding the vulnerability of elderly citizens who cannot afford private healthcare. As private coverage options diminish, many residents are turning to the public sector, specifically the Hospital Masvernat, for medical assistance.
