Mamadi Diakite signs multiyear deal with Dubai Basketball after successful season with Baskonia

Guinean forward Mamadi Diakite, a former NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks and NCAA champion with the University of Virginia, has signed a multiyear contract with Dubai Basketball. After completing his first European season with Saski Baskonia in the EuroLeague, Diakite averaged 8.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and a player‑index rating of 10.1 in 19 minutes per game, leading the Liga Endesa in blocked shots and helping Baskonia capture the 2026 Copa del Rey.

The new agreement will keep Diakite in the United Arab Emirates for the coming years, where he is expected to bolster the interior play of the Emirati club with his defensive versatility and offensive capability demonstrated during his stint in Spain.
