MAMAM Museum hosts Arte Laguna Prize exhibition in Recife
The Aloísio Magalhães Museum of Modern Art (MAMAM) in Recife, Brazil, is hosting an international group exhibition titled ‘Can Artificial Intelligence Help Save and Protect Nature?’. Running from August 8 to October 18, 2026, the showcase features works by fifteen artists recognized during the 20th edition of the Arte Laguna Prize.
The exhibition is a collaborative effort involving the Arte Laguna Prize, the MoCA association, the SAMAM association, the Italian Consulate, and the Recife Secretariat of Culture. This event coincides with the touring exhibition of the 36th São Paulo Biennial at Oficina Francisco Brennand, contributing to a concentrated period of cultural activity in the region.
The Arte Laguna Prize utilizes its special prizes to facilitate residencies and global exhibitions, acting as a career accelerator for artists. The MAMAM museum, founded in 1960, continues its tradition of treating art as a social practice through this international exchange.
