Mamata Banerjee accuses BJP and CEC of electoral irregularities

Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has accused the BJP-led central government and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar of undermining democracy in West Bengal. Speaking at an INDIA bloc rally in Delhi, Banerjee alleged that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls resulted in the removal of more than one crore voters before Assembly polls were conducted.

Banerjee claimed that the CEC centrally hijacked the system to vanish votes during the counting process. She further accused the BJP of misusing law enforcement agencies for political purposes and looting various assets, including Waqf properties and funds linked to the Ram Temple.

The INDIA bloc organized the ‘Dilli Chalo’ protest to demand the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar, citing these alleged electoral irregularities. Banerjee vowed to continue fighting for democratic rights through political means.
