Mambu launches Intelligent Core to integrate agentic AI with banking

Mambu has announced the launch of Intelligent Core, a technology architecture designed to integrate core banking, payments, and agentic AI into a single open, composable platform. The initiative aims to address the limitations of legacy banking systems, which Mambu notes are often unable to support real-time intelligence or autonomous action when AI is layered on top of them.

The new architecture includes Mambu Agentic, a native intelligence layer that introduces three specific capability layers: Model Context Protocol (MCP) for direct connection between AI agents and core systems; AI Insights for providing curated, trustworthy data and surfacing growth or risk opportunities; and pre-built action agents that can gather data, reason within configurable guardrails, and explain their decisions.

Mambu CEO Fernando Zandona stated that the goal is to allow financial institutions to run AI safely and reliably at scale by connecting intelligence directly to the ledger.
