Mamelodi Sundowns coach addresses Saleng and Maseko departures

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has addressed the status of two players, Monnapule Saleng and Thapelo Maseko, regarding their future with the club.

Cardoso stated that Monnapule Saleng has been separated from the first team due to repeated breaches of club rules and values. The coach noted that Saleng missed essential commitments, including the club's pre-season camp and the CAF Champions League final. Cardoso emphasized that while the club has provided support, the player's failure to follow team expectations made it impossible to maintain squad stability.

Regarding Thapelo Maseko, who recently returned from a season-long loan at AEL Limassol, Cardoso confirmed that the attacker intends to leave the club. Although the coach expressed a desire to work with the player, he noted that Maseko has stated he wants to move elsewhere. Reports indicate that Sundowns are in early discussions with FC Copenhagen concerning a potential transfer.
