Mamer to host new €307.7 million Sportlycée campus

The Luxembourg Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, alongside the Administration des bâtiments publics, has announced a €307.7 million project to construct a new Sportlycée and boarding school in Mamer.

The new campus is designed to address capacity constraints at the current Sportlycée in Luxembourg City, which has seen student enrollment grow from 318 to 506 since 2012. The Mamer facility will accommodate up to 646 students across 27 classes, supported by approximately 160 teachers and staff.

To support high-level athletic development, the campus will include a boarding house with 160 beds, allowing students to integrate academic studies with intensive training. Minister Yuriko Backes stated that the investment aims to provide equal opportunities and support the dual ambitions of academic and sporting excellence for young talents. The site will be accessible via public transport and integrated into the local cycling network.
