Mamiya Shotaro to star in Japanese remake of ‘Quiz From God’
Actor Mamiya Shotaro will star in the Japanese remake of the hit South Korean mystery drama ‘Quiz From God’. The series is scheduled for an exclusive global release on Prime Video starting December 4, 2026.
Set in modern-day Tokyo, the story follows Hatsushima Haruto, a former neurosurgeon who has transitioned into a forensic pathologist at the National Forensic Autopsy Center. The character, portrayed by Mamiya, uses his genius-level intellect to solve mysterious deaths linked to rare diseases and underlying social issues. The narrative also explores Haruto’s personal struggle with a mysterious illness and secrets from his past.
The original Korean production, created by CJ ENM and STUDIO DRAGON, was a major social phenomenon that spanned five seasons. The Japanese version, directed by Hashizume Shunki, aims to adapt the suspenseful elements of the original while incorporating contemporary Japanese social contexts.
