Mammootty celebrates 75th birthday and unveils new film ‘Mela’

Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty is celebrating his 75th birthday, marked by tributes from industry colleagues and political leaders, including Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan. Actor Mohanlal shared a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on their 50-year professional relationship and having collaborated on 56 films.

To commemorate the milestone, Mammootty Kampany unveiled the title and first-look poster for ‘Mela’, a big-budget gangster action entertainer directed by Nithish Sahadev. The poster depicts the actor in a rugged, intense avatar.

His upcoming projects include a return to the character Karikkamuri Shanmughan in ‘Law and Order’, a collaboration with filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan for ‘Padayatra’, and the Tamil action thriller ‘Om’ alongside actor Dhanush. Mammootty’s career spans over five decades with more than 400 films and four National Film Awards.
