Mamoru Miyano joins cast of medical drama Kyumei Byoto 24-ji
Fuji TV has announced the sixth series of its long-running medical drama, ‘Kyumei Byoto 24-ji’ (ER 24 Hours), scheduled to premiere on October 12. This production marks the first new series in approximately 13 years and will be the first in the franchise to air in the ‘Getsu 9’ time slot.
Actor and voice actor Mamoru Miyano will join the cast, playing Tsubaki Tobano, an emergency physician and middle manager struggling to balance traditional medical duties with modern workplace reforms. Other confirmed cast members include Satoshi Kanda, Tan Mi, Ryo Tajima, and Kyosuke Tani.
The series features the return of lead actors Yosuke Eguchi and Nana Matsushima, who reprise their roles as Issei Shindo and Kaede Kojima, respectively. The new season aims to explore themes of changing eras, including work-style reforms, generational gaps, and the evolution of medical care in the Reiwa era.
