Mamoudzou launches MAY’ACT Prize to reward social innovation in Mayotte

The City of Mamoudzou has launched the MAY’ACT Prize to recognize local actors and citizens working to improve social cohesion and security in Mayotte. The initiative aims to highlight community-led solutions that often remain invisible despite their impact on youth and social stability.

The competition is free and open to individuals or organizations conducting activities of general interest on the island. It is divided into three main categories: ‘Citizen Initiative’ for associations and collectives working on living together; ‘Engaged Youth’ for civic projects led by young people or schools; and ‘Institutional Partner’ for state services, municipalities, or security forces implementing innovative actions. A special jury prize may also be awarded for projects with exceptional impact.
