Mamuju palm oil farmers undergo technical training program

A human resource development program for palm oil farmers was held in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, from September 6 to 12, 2026. The initiative was organized by the Directorate General of Plantations of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Palm Oil Fund Management Agency (BPDP), in collaboration with PT Citra Widya Education (PT CWE) and local industry partners PT Manakarra Unggul Lestari and PT Unggul Widya Teknologi Lestari.

A total of 133 farmers participated in the seven-day training. The curriculum was divided into two main tracks: technical cultivation training, which included 98 participants across three classes, and technical training for harvesting and post-harvest management, which included 35 participants.

Stefanus Nugroho Kristono, President Director of PT CWE, stated that the program aims to strengthen farmers' knowledge, skills, independence, and managerial abilities. The training addresses ongoing technical challenges in the field regarding cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling to improve the quality of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) and increase farmer welfare.
