Mamuju Tengah Regent submits land certificates for Sekolah Rakyat

The Regent of Mamuju Tengah, Arsal Aras, has submitted land certificates to the Ministry of Social Affairs to facilitate the construction of a permanent Sekolah Rakyat (People's School) in West Sulawesi.

During a meeting in Jakarta on August 24, 2026, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono confirmed the receipt of the documents for approximately 8.85 hectares of land located in Mamahe Village, Tobadak District. The site, which is currently agricultural land, was selected after previous locations were deemed unsuitable.

The initiative aims to provide quality education to children from poor and extremely poor families, serving as a government strategy to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. The Ministry hopes Mamuju Tengah can participate in the third phase of the Sekolah Rakyat development program scheduled for this year.
