Mamuka Mdinaradze appointed State Minister for Regional Policy as Georgia abolishes two ministries

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced a cabinet reshuffle that will create a new State Minister for Regional Policy and name Mamuka Mdinaradze to the post. The reform will also eliminate Mdinaradze's three‑month‑old State Ministry for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies and the existing Ministry of Regional Development. The changes are slated for approval by the Georgian Dream‑controlled parliament when it reconvenes in September. Current Regional Development Minister Kakhaber Guledani will become the first deputy minister of infrastructure, while Mdinaradze will temporarily retain his regional development portfolio until the new position is formally established.
