MAN and Scania announce new transport technologies

MAN and Scania have announced new technological developments aimed at increasing efficiency and sustainability in the commercial transport sector.

MAN plans to showcase its full range of electric trucks, spanning 12 to 50 tons, at the IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition. The lineup includes the eTGL, eTGM, eTGS, and eTGX series, designed for applications ranging from urban logistics to long-distance transport. The eTGX model is noted for a range of up to 570 kilometers without intermediate charging. Additionally, MAN is promoting its D30 PowerLion diesel propulsion system, which claims up to a 5% fuel saving compared to previous models, and the MAN EfficientCruise system utilizing GPS and PredictiveDrive technology.

Scania introduced its new Super powertrain for buses at the Lat. Bus 2026 event in São Paulo. Featuring 11L and 13L engines, the new system is designed to reduce operating costs and improve fuel efficiency by as much as 8%. The technology includes Scania Opticruise for automated gear shifting and a new Scania Retarder providing up to 4,700 Nm of braking torque to enhance safety and energy management during deceleration.
