Man Arrested After Attacking iFood Delivery Riders in Cruzeiro do Sul, Brazil
Police detained a man on the night of 26 January in Cruzeiro do Sul after he assaulted two iFood couriers on Benjamin Constant Street. The suspect, identified by the initials J.J.C.L., was reportedly intoxicated and demanded the riders purchase cocaine for him, offering R$ 50. When the riders refused, he struck them with an iron bar, injuring one victim’s head and the other's chest, knee and chin. The victims defended themselves, one using a concrete piece. The attacker also sustained abrasions, was taken to a local emergency unit, released after medical assessment, and then placed under arrest. Authorities recovered the suspect’s mobile phone and returned it to the police.
