Yankee Stadium field intruder identified after 9/11 anniversary protest

Kelly Marcucci, a 38-year-old Long Island resident, was arrested after storming the field at Yankee Stadium during a Subway Series game between the Yankees and the Mets. The incident occurred at approximately 9:11 p.m. on September 11, 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Marcucci, who was wearing a jersey with the slogan ‘No Kings,’ ran from the left-field seats toward center field while waving a Palestinian flag. Stadium security and police intercepted and tackled him in center field. The disruption drew immediate reactions from the crowd, including boos, thrown drinks, and chants of ‘USA! USA!’

The NYPD has charged Marcucci with misdemeanor trespassing and interfering with a professional sporting event. Prior to the incident, Marcucci reportedly shared various political views and criticisms of capitalism, Zionism, and Saudi Arabia on social media.
