Man arrested for attempted under‑skirt filming at JR Ichikawa Station

A 23‑year‑old man was arrested by Ichikawa police on June 17 after attempting to film beneath a woman's skirt with a smartphone on the stairs of JR Ichikawa Station in Chiba Prefecture. Police said the suspect approached the victim from behind and tried to insert the phone under her skirt, violating Japan’s law against sexual privacy violations. He was taken into custody shortly after the incident at about 16:27.

The arrest was reported by the Chiba Prefectural Police as a case of attempted sexual image recording under the Penal Code.
