Man arrested for fatal stabbing of woman in Feliz Natal

A 28-year-old woman, Mirela dos Santos Kaluzny, was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Sunday, October 6, in Feliz Natal, Mato Grosso. Security camera footage captured Kaluzny entering a residence at 3:19 a.m. accompanied by a man, who left the premises alone seven minutes later. This individual is not considered a suspect.

Police arrested 43-year-old Carlo Alves Soares at the scene. Soares, who appeared intoxicated, was found hiding in an external corridor near the victim. According to police reports, Soares and Kaluzny had met shortly before the incident at a snack bar and had no prior relationship.

Soares admitted to the stabbing following an argument. He claimed the dispute arose after Kaluzny made threats against him, alleging she claimed to belong to a criminal faction. The Civil Police are investigating the circumstances of the femicide to verify the details of the confrontation and the dynamics of the event.
