Ciudad Juárez authorities arrest man for harassment and charge police officers for abuse

In Ciudad Juárez, authorities have taken action regarding two separate criminal incidents involving public safety and sexual misconduct.

Miguel G. R., a 36-year-old man, was arrested following reports of sexual harassment near Colegio Santa María. A mother reported observing the man engaging in indecent exposure from his vehicle near the school. The arrest was facilitated by social media reports and video evidence provided by a witness, which helped identify his vehicle, a Chrysler 200. Local authorities indicated that increased patrols will be implemented near schools to prevent similar incidents.

Separately, two state police officers, a father and son identified as Erick N. (42) and Valentín N. (70), have been formally charged in Ciudad Juárez. The men, one of whom served as a commander for the State Investigation Agency, face allegations of aggravated rape and sexual abuse against minors committed between 2019 and 2022. A judge has ordered both men to remain in preventive detention while the legal process continues.
