Kolkata: Father and son allegedly paraded naked over relationship dispute

A young man, his father, and a friend were allegedly assaulted and forced to walk naked through the streets of the Sarsuna area in Kolkata following a dispute over the young man’s relationship with a minor girl.

The incident occurred on a Sunday night in the Behala/Sarsuna region. According to the victims, the girl’s family confronted the couple and subsequently held the young man and his friend captive. The victim’s father alleged that the girl’s relatives presented him with a firearm and gave him a choice: shoot his son or walk naked through the locality with him. The victims were reportedly forced to walk naked for approximately 50 to 500 metres while being recorded on camera.

Kolkata Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident, including the girl’s parents and maternal uncle. A case has been registered under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including attempt to murder, wrongful confinement, and criminal intimidation. The incident has sparked significant public outrage and local tension.
