Man arrested for raping and impregnating 11‑year‑old in Roraima, Brazil

Police in the Brazilian state of Roraima arrested a 21‑year‑old man, identified by the initials R. J. M., after he was caught raping and impregnating an 11‑year‑old girl from the indigenous Vida Nova community in Amajari. The assaults began in September 2025 and were repeated, leading to a pregnancy that later ended in a spontaneous abortion, confirmed by ultrasound at a local hospital.

The victim’s brother and his wife first witnessed the crime in an abandoned barrack, and the suspect admitted the abuse when confronted by the girl’s mother. Despite the initial report, he continued to contact the child, even breaking into the family home in February 2026. He was located in Caracaraí, taken into preventive detention, and his mobile phone was seized for investigation.
