Man arrested for sex trafficking and rape in Monroe County

Russell Morgan, 55, has been arrested on multiple felony charges following a series of 911 emergency calls in Monroe County, Indiana. Deputies responded to calls near North Russell Road and East Trail Ridge Road where a woman could be heard yelling for help and crying.

A 34-year-old woman reported being physically and sexually assaulted by Morgan. She further alleged that during her eight weeks in Bloomington, she was denied basic necessities such as food and water and was prevented from leaving.

Morgan faces preliminary charges including Level 3 felony rape, Level 4 felony promotion of human sexual trafficking, Level 6 felony domestic battery, and Level 6 felony criminal confinement. The investigation remains ongoing.
