Man arrested for sexual harassment in São Pedro do Ivaí

A man was detained in the center of São Pedro do Ivaí on Friday morning following allegations of sexual harassment against a female relative with cognitive limitations. The victim's daughter reported to the Military Police that her uncle had forcibly grabbed her mother against her will.

The suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated, denied the abuse and claimed the contact was consensual. However, while speaking to officers, he reportedly made obscene gestures simulating sexual acts. The victim later confirmed to the police that the man had grabbed her and rubbed his body against hers without permission.

The victim was taken to the Santa Casa de São Pedro do Ivaí for medical evaluation and forensic exams. Following these procedures, all parties were taken to the Civil Police Station in Jandaia do Sul, where an investigation into the crime will be conducted.
