A 46-year-old man was arrested for sexual harassment after a 28-year-old woman recorded him masturbating on a bus traveling between Itabuna and Canavieiras in Bahia, Brazil.

The incident occurred on a Monday during the segment between Una and Canavieiras. The victim reported that the suspect approached her, made non-consensual physical contact, and performed sexual acts in her presence. A military police officer on the bus observed the situation, leading to the vehicle being intercepted in Ilhéus.

Following a custody hearing at the 1st Criminal Court of Ilhéus, the judiciary granted the suspect provisional release despite the Public Ministry's request for preventive detention. The man must adhere to precautionary measures, including maintaining a distance of at least 500 meters from the victim, avoiding all contact, and keeping his address updated with authorities. The Specialized Police Station for Women's Assistance (DEAM) is conducting the investigation.
