Man arrested for stealing 30 lambs in Ciudad Real

A resident of Pozuelo de Calatrava has been arrested for the repeated theft of 30 lambs from a livestock farm in Daimiel, Ciudad Real. The thefts occurred in multiple stages starting in September, after which the perpetrator cut through the farm's perimeter fence to gain access.

The Guardia Civil launched Operation Tranquera to investigate the recurring incidents. An undercover agent eventually caught the suspect while he was attempting to steal two additional lambs. During his escape, the suspect fled the scene, abandoning the animals on a road and losing personal items, including vehicle keys.

Investigators used the recovered keys and other evidence to identify the suspect, leading to his arrest in mid-October. Although the suspect was apprehended, the stolen lambs could not be recovered as they had been sold shortly after the thefts. The individual faces four property crimes and has been placed at the disposal of the Tribunal Único de Almagro.
