Man arrested for stealing air conditioners from Greek tourist accommodation

A man has been arrested in Nafpaktos following the theft of air conditioning units from a tourist accommodation in Cryoneri, Aetolia-Acarnania. The incident occurred on the morning of September 9, 2026, when the suspect and a minor accomplice entered a fenced area of rental rooms.

The perpetrators removed two indoor units and one outdoor unit, with a total estimated value of 700 euros. The stolen items were loaded into a passenger car owned by the adult suspect.

Officers from the Messolonghi Crime Investigation Department solved the case by analyzing security camera footage, which allowed them to identify the individuals involved. Police seized the vehicle used in the theft and the transport of the stolen goods. The man will be brought before the Prosecutor of First Instance of Aetolia-Acarnania, and a case has also been filed against the identified minor.
