Man arrested for UniCredit bank robbery in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano

Italian authorities have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with a robbery at the UniCredit bank branch in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano. The suspect, a resident of the Milan area with a prior criminal record, is currently in custody following an order from the Lodi Court.

The incident occurred on the morning of September 21, when a masked man wearing a wig entered the branch. Simulating the possession of a firearm, the perpetrator threatened the branch manager with a pair of scissors and locked four employees in an office for approximately two hours. During the robbery, the suspect forced the staff to initiate timed procedures to unlock safes and ATMs, successfully stealing 159,000 euros in cash.

The investigation was led by the Carabinieri of the Lodi Provincial Command, supported by the RIS of Parma. The rapid identification of the suspect followed a methodical analysis of evidence collected at the scene.
