Man arrested in Alaska for alleged child rape in Massachusetts

The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested John R. Monge in Anchorage, Alaska, in connection with a child rape investigation in Bristol County, Massachusetts.

According to court records, Monge allegedly traveled from Alaska to Massachusetts in August 2024 to engage in sexual acts with a child he met online. Following a report from the alleged victim, an arrest warrant was issued charging Monge with statutory rape, enticing a child under 16, and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.

After a fugitive investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service District of Massachusetts coordinated with the District of Alaska to locate and apprehend Monge at his residence. He is currently being held pending his return to Massachusetts to face the charges.
