Man arrested in Murcia with 4 kg hash in link to 2024 Almería drug haul

The Spanish Guardia Civil completed Operation Timuga by arresting a suspect in the city of Murcia. The man, who had evaded authorities for two years after a 2024 incident in Huércal‑Overa, Almería, was originally linked to the transport of about 50 kg of hashish. During the recent raid, officers found an additional four kilograms of hashish in his possession and charged him with new drug‑trafficking offenses, along with earlier counts of document falsification, vehicle theft and disobedience to police.

The investigation traced the suspect’s movements after he fled a police checkpoint in 2024, eluded capture by abandoning his vehicle and constantly changing residences, and ultimately led to his location in neighboring Murcia. He has been placed before a judicial authority to answer for the accumulated crimes.
