Man attacked with baseball bat during iPhone sale in Santo Domingo

A Facebook Marketplace transaction for an iPhone 15 Pro Max turned violent in the Los Praditos sector of Santo Domingo. Enmanuel Contrera Medina met with a seller to finalize a purchase after transferring RD$15,000 to a designated account.

According to a Public Ministry investigation, after receiving the phone and the payment, the seller, identified as Lenin Jhericop Núñez de León, demanded the device be returned and began shouting accusations of theft. The situation escalated when Núñez de León allegedly pushed Contrera Medina and repeatedly struck him with a baseball bat, leaving him unconscious.

Contrera Medina was transported to the Dr. Ney Arias Lora Hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe closed traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage, and multiple cerebral contusions. He has undergone surgical procedures, including a craniotomy, to treat his injuries.
