Sevilla murder investigation: Man arrested after stabbing partner in La Campana

A 47-year-old woman was murdered in La Campana, Sevilla, following a stabbing attack in a public area on Saturday night. The victim, identified as Vanessa, was transported to a health center where she died shortly before midnight.

The primary suspect, a 56-year-old man who was the victim's partner, barricaded himself in his home for nearly twelve hours. He eventually surrendered to the Guardia Civil around midday on Sunday. The suspect was transported by helicopter to a hospital to receive treatment for self-inflicted wounds, including an injury to his neck.

The Guardia Civil is investigating the incident as a case of gender-based violence. Authorities noted that the victim and the suspect shared a child, and reports suggest the minor may have witnessed the crime. The Andalusian government has condemned the killing, noting it as a significant tragedy within the ongoing issue of gender violence in Spain.
