Man charged with homicide and illegal burial in Cauquenes

A 23-year-old man has been charged with aggravated homicide and illegal burial following the death of 37-year-old Eduardo Norambuena Salgado in Cauquenes, Chile.

According to prosecutors, the incident occurred on September 20, 2026, inside a warehouse on Antonio Varas Street. Following a dispute over money, the suspect allegedly struck the victim multiple times in the face and skull with blunt objects, causing fatal traumatic brain injury.

Investigators determined that the suspect later transported the body via pickup truck to a beach in the Tregualemu sector, where he buried the victim. Following a report from the victim's parents, the Chilean Investigative Police (PDI) located the body in a pit approximately two meters deep during heavy rain on Thursday night.
