Aeroparque security operation leads to arrest over kidney prank
A 46-year-old man, Pablo Daniel Fagni, was detained and processed for public intimidation after leaving an abandoned cooler at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. The incident, which occurred on August 19, triggered a major security operation involving the Airport Security Police (PSA), bomb squads, and medical personnel due to a handwritten note on the container that simulated an official seizure involving a lawyer from Bariloche.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered an animal kidney preserved in ice inside the cooler. While initially there were concerns regarding human biological remains, forensic experts confirmed the organ was of animal origin. Fagni claimed the entire setup was a joke intended for a friend, referencing previous conversations about her alcohol consumption during a trip to the Dominican Republic.
Federal Judge Marcelo Martínez De Giorgi processed Fagni for public intimidation. Although the defendant was not held in preventive detention, the court imposed an 8 million peso embargo to cover the significant operational costs incurred by the emergency response and security forces.
