Man diagnosed with acute alcoholic hepatitis after heavy drinking

A 30-year-old man has been diagnosed with acute alcoholic hepatitis after consuming large amounts of alcohol for three consecutive days due to work requirements. The patient presented with symptoms including fatigue, bloating, dark urine, and persistent pain in the right hypochondrium.

Medical examinations revealed that his GGT (gamma-glutamyl transferase) levels reached 1,087 U/L, which is approximately 18 times the normal limit. While other liver enzymes like ALT and AST showed only slight increases, ultrasound results indicated grade I fatty liver disease without fibrosis.

Medical experts from Medlatec General Hospital warned that consuming excessive alcohol in a short period can trigger acute liver injury. The patient has been advised to completely abstain from alcohol and follow a prescribed treatment plan.
