Man dies after electric scooter crash on Constanța bike lane

Around 06:45 on 5 July 2026, police in Năvodari were alerted to a man lying unconscious on the bike lane parallel to national road DJ 226 in the Midia area near Constanța. The victim was identified as a 45‑year‑old resident of Istria who had been riding an electric scooter.

According to the Constanța County Police Inspectorate, the man lost control of the scooter, fell from the lane and suffered a severe head injury. Medical responders declared him dead at the scene. His body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy, and a criminal investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
