Man dies after police chase and taser use in Senigallia, Italy
A 39‑year‑old driver of a BMW fled a police checkpoint in Senigallia around 5:30 a.m., prompting a car chase by Carabinieri. After the vehicle was blocked, the suspect abandoned the car and continued on foot, where he resisted arrest and was subdued with a taser. Two Carabinieri officers were injured during the struggle.
The man was placed in an ambulance and transported to the local hospital, but he suffered a sudden medical collapse and died en route. The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Ancona opened an investigative file, and Deputy Prosecutor Valeria Cigliola ordered an autopsy to determine whether the death was caused by a natural medical event or linked to the stressful arrest and taser use.
