Man dies at Lake Washington boat landing in Meeker County

Authorities in Meeker County are investigating the death of 56-year-old Edward Chabot of Watertown, Minnesota. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at the Lake Washington boat landing in Ellsworth Township.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Chabot and his wife were attempting to bring their pontoon boat to shore when Chabot, who was standing in the water, went under. Despite life-saving efforts performed after he was brought to shore, Chabot was pronounced dead at Hutchinson Hospital following what appeared to be a medical emergency.
