Former Torreón notary arrested in Madrid for real estate fraud

Authorities in Coahuila, Mexico, have confirmed the arrest of Fernando “N”, a former notary from Torreón, in Madrid, Spain. The arrest was coordinated through Interpol and the Federal Attorney General's Office. He is a primary suspect in a large-scale real estate fraud scheme, often referred to as the “real estate cartel,” which has resulted in over 60 investigations in the Coahuila region. The alleged fraud involves irregular documentation and the sale of properties that were never delivered, causing estimated damages of approximately 50 million pesos to 27 victims. An extradition process is expected to follow his detention.

In Málaga, Spain, the National Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for the homicide of his 52-year-old roommate. The victim was found with signs of violence in a shared residence in the Bailén-Miraflores district. Following an investigation, the suspect reportedly confessed to the killing, admitting to a history of physical aggression against the victim prior to the fatal incident.
